The frontal slope of the main municipal solid waste landfill of Cantabria (Meruelo II) is being monitored for assessing its mechanical stability. Nowadays, the results of the X, Y, Z movement of a set of points for a period longer than five years (1998–2003) are available. During this time, the landfill has been raised upstream above the instrumented part of the slope, resulting in changes in the magnitude and direction of the movements, and thus reflecting the different stages of the filling works. The analysis of these movements is presented here.
