Abstract
The present work is based on monitored settlement data from a cell of waste built in the landfill of the Jockey Club of Brasilia. This cell was constructed in the area reserved to the University of Brasilia researches. Approximately 1402 days after the construction, it was observed that the time x settlement plot shows a well defined stabilization tendency, there was simulations of re-loading of the cell in order to verify the behavior of the material after the loading increment on the old layer, whose settlements were already stabilized. For the numerical analysis, the finite elements software PLAXIS was used and Soft Soil Creep was the model used to represent the behavior of the material (urban solid waste). The material parameters were obtained in a previous study, based on the back-analysis of the settlement plot of the cell. In this paper, the theory and the results obtained from the numerical analysis are presented and discussed.
