To bolster recycling in the urban environment and to avoid disposal of potentially suitable fill materials, crushed curbside collected glass (CG) and dredged material (DM) classifying as organic silt (OH) were blended to evaluate their geotechnical properties. This paper reports on the basic soil parameters, modified Proctor compaction indices, strength, consolidation and hydraulic conductivity properties. The addition of as little as 20% CG led to important changes to DM, as summarized herein. The range of properties available from CG-DM blends allows for geotechnical designers to create “recycled material” fill for a wide range of uses.
