Following on from earlier chapters which have outlined a process to move from traditional construction delivery to manufacturing-led construction and automation, this chapter focusses on developing detailed requirements from a defined need. It explains different types of requirements and their relationships to each other and to offers from suppliers, as well as what to consider when developing requirements. It presents models that can be used to translate the voice of the customer into requirements, the importance of ongoing management of requirements through the lifecycle of an asset.
