It was suggested that a wider approach to coastal management enabled engineers to consider a wider range of options. It was announced that MAFF has set up a committee to review the collection of wave data. A question was asked as to whether or not a move could be made to initiate regional and local Coastal Zone Management (CZM) plans in the Anglian Region of the NRA. A strategy plan was due to be produced in 1992-93 and catchment management plans incorporating a strategy would be produced.

The proposed solution for the Lincolnshire coast was sand beach nourishment without control structures. The seabed was relatively flat offshore and the rate of littoral drift was low. An EIA was being prepared for the offshore borrow area before a dredging licence was obtained. Pumped extraction drains were not considered to be appropriate due to high clay levels below the beach. Tracers as such were not proposed but a four-year monitoring programme was planned.
