The future of post-irradiation examination
DR H. K. HARDY, UKAEA, Risley
How do the Authors see future PIE concepts being
developed by teams other than themselves?
MR L. J. WHITE, UKAEA, Harwell
I do not see the various concepts as being in competition. The concept presented in our Paper makes the most extreme demands on manipulator and closed circuit TV technology and thus sets ultimate targets for equipment development programmes.
Successful progress would allow project design managers to incorporate the equipment thus developed in the most favourable concept which suits their task whether it lies in PIE, fuel reprocessing or waste conditioning.
