The final session was chaired by Mr. M. Ginniff. He explained that he intended the discussions to take the same form as those which concluded the previous conference in 1978. Six questions had been prepared which were intended to direct the debate towards obtaining an overall judgement on some important aspects of the conference. The same questions had been presented at the equivalent Session in 1978 and it would be of interest to compare the views expressed at that time.
Question 1t What components are not receiving sufficient vibrational assessment?
Dr. M.K. AU-YANG (USA) expressed the view that apart from steam generator tubes, fuel bundles and the core support structure, almost all components required increased attention in terms of vibrational assessment.
