In the rainy season of 1991, the mountain slope, along a river, suddenly slid down into the river, formed a barrage and blocked the stream. Scarcely had the barrage been burst when the torrent scored the riverside and caused a series of slope slides. More than 1 kilometer highway vanished with the slope. Since the slope slides had formed, the soil on the slide slope was washed away as debris flew, and the makeshift road was destroyed times and again. The section of highway lies in a narrow valley with precipitous and disastrous slope, there is no way to make a detour. It is necessary to control the cluster of slides so as to reinstate the highway.
