The problem of shear and bending capacity of reinforced concrete members of high strength concrete beams has engaged the attention of researchers. Despite this, it has not yet been understood fully, because of the fact that the behavior of high strength concrete structures under variable stresses is very complex. Little information is available regarding both the shear behavior of different elements and the failure mode mechanics of high strength reinforced concrete members. Is the present work, high strength concrete beams are tested under concentrated loads to determine their cracking, deflection and failure mode and ultimate shear and bending strength. The test variables are the shear span-to-depth ratio, the web reinforcement ratio and their influence on the shear capacity.
