I THINK two major issues have emerged during this Conference. The first is the phenomenal continuing growth of air transport in all its aspects. In general the business is continuing to double every 5% years and it is now getting so massive, in quantitative terms, that the multiplying of traffic by four times by 1978 is going to bring with it some formidable problems. As Mr Hammarskjold has said, forej; casting is a key factor. It is an interesting fact that, so far as I know, no forecasts for air transport have ever been equal to what has actually happened, except in the very short term.
