Examples are given of the use of retaining walls on unstable slopes, together with the principles of calculation and method of use in combination with a counter-bench. Design solutions are given for retaining wall reinforcement, methods for reducing pressure acting on a retaining wall are considered, and a method for designing a retaining wall for the pressure of a restricted soil volume is given.
