This paper examines the motivations behind individual environmental action and how these can pressure Local Councils to introduce waste separation at source in their localities. It also seeks to understand the present position of Local Councils and the reasons why they are not showing a lot of interest. This paper points out to knowledge and ‘frustration’ with the present system as a means of instigating such action.
