A claim may be made in a variety of situations, which commonly arise in construction. It is important to understand when claims may be made and on what basis. In this chapter a range of situations will be covered, including entitlements under the contract, claims in respect of breaches of contract. The circumstances will include claims for additional payment and for extensions of time. The basis upon which compensation is to be computed will be examined.
