Abstract
Ports, waterways and related coastal structures are very common in most countries. Geosynthetics as used in many other applications are also applicable to these structures for their better performance and cost-effectiveness compared with traditional materials. In this chapter, the applications of geosynthetics for quay walls, breakwaters, river embankments, waterfront retaining walls, coastal dykes and groins are summarised.
