Introduction
It has not been denied by any Muslim scholar that after a person's death, he or she will still gain
benefits from previous acts of charity (Sadaqah jariyah). The Prophet Muhammad (Peace be
upon Him) in a tradition narrated by Abu Hurayrah said:
"When a person dies, all his good deeds cease except for three: a continuous act of charity
(Sadaqa jariyah), beneficial knowledge and a righteous child who prays for him" [1].
