This document provides an introductory guide to accepted best practice for site investigations, not only for construction professionals such as civil and structural engineers, builders and architects, but also for their clients. It has been prepared under the supervision of the Site Investigation Steering Group, a multi-disciplinary ad hoc body representing those professional institutions, learned societies, trade organisations and government agencies involved in or affected by site investigations.
