Industry initiatives

The authors of this book are aware of a number of initiatives that may be adopted in the near future. For completeness, some of the 2016 initiatives are listed below. These are subject to finalisation and may involve significant revision from the details provided here.

Following an initial investment by the Soil and Groundwater Technology Association (SAGTA) together with SoBRA, local authorities and consultancies, efforts are underway to derive Category 4 Screening Levels (C4SLs) for more than 50 compounds. It is intended these will be:

At the time of writing, agreement on contaminants was being sought, along with specialist toxicological input. The first tranche of assessed C4SLs is scheduled for publication towards the end of 2016.
