Winter in the northern sections of the United States is long, dark, and snowy. Driving is often difficult and walking can be hazardous. Winter sports can be a pleasurable aspect of winter, but the event that makes winter bearable is the “snow day.” This day, which does not come every year, is the day when the schools close because of a huge storm. It is an unexpected holiday for children, teachers, and many others. It is a free, unplanned day begging for activity. The question that those who have received this gift must ask themselves is, how shall I spend this day?
