The objective of this manuscript was to examine the underrepresentation of Black males in STEM disciplines. This was accomplished by unveiling the cloak of invisibility to determine such reasons and to bring to the forefront issues contributing to their palpable absence from the field. From an historical perspective, it is quite noticeable that this population has such few scientists, technologists, engineers and mathematicians, which are often regarded as male-dominated industries. Careers within the STEM fields is exceedingly promising and is expected to grow by unprecedented numbers in the future. Also, it is equally important to note that employment in STEM fields grows at double the rate of other occupations. Therefore, a career within the STEM leads to upward mobility and greater job opportunities.
