In the last 10 years, a large number of students from Central Asia and the former Soviet Union as a whole have gone to study in the United States. A large number of students were subsidized by governments both within the region and outside of it. The support of exchange programs has not been studied academically. This paper examines the five republics of Central Asia and how international exchange programs have fared there. The papers outlines the scale, the effects, possible directions exchanges will take in the future.
