I was sexually harassed at work in college.
Twenty-five years after the fact, this is a difficult sentence to write. At the time it happened, I couldn’t have written it because I didn’t know that I was being sexually harassed. I only knew that I didn’t like the way I was treated and I wanted it to stop. But it didn’t seem like something to complain about. No one intervened and stopped the harassment because it never occurred to me to complain. I am still friends with my bosses from those days, so I know that if I had reported, they would have done something.
