Recently, I was notified about an upcoming college interview for one of the eight Ivy League schools. When I received the email, my stomach was quivering in fear. I had never been interviewed before, and my teachers at school had failed to mention college interviews to me. I shared the nervewracking news with my parents and my teacher at Workforce, my afterschool program. They all reassured me by saying that I have nothing to worry about, since this is a great opportunity to showcase myself as a diligent scholar and person. Bryan Zuluaga, my teacher, told me: “From time to time, you managed to handle school, clubs, chores, and jobs well enough to not let it affect your grades. I’ve never seen anyone do it better. It’ll be alright, because you are going to ace this interview.”
