An access road on embankment up to 8 m high was recently constructed on the sidelong ground of a slope mantled with Colluvium and overlain by up to 8 m of fill. Original placement of the fill had triggered a landslip, which was reactivated on several occasions prior to construction of the access road, leaving the slope in a state of marginal stability. The Paper describes the site and site history, investigation of the slip and subsequent design and construction of the stabilisation measures.
