There is no single way of producing urban design graphics. There are however, some common principles and methods that we have adopted and evolved over the years. These methods of good practice make understanding and interpreting graphics more intuitive. Good practice allows us to have clarity, legibility and professionalism in the outputs we produce.
During the life of a project there will be many plans, drawings and graphics created. Applying the same elements consistently as below is a part of the quality-control process.
Drawings often require additional information to help us understand, orientate and interpret them. Many of the images and illustrations we use in urban design are of real places and having ways to relate them to their original geography is vital.
