Planning and urban design projects can be difficult to manage in terms of graphics production. Involving the key team members from the outset is always a good idea. It clears up any misunderstandings or miscommunications from the project’s inception. The graphic inputs are not always constant and the main bulk of the work can come towards the end.
However, planning the graphics work and considering other elements will help deliver the project far more efficiently and minimise last-minute panics. There are now many excellent software programs that assist with the management and coordination of complex projects.
Identifying the project aims, objectives and outputs from the start gives all key members ‘the brief’ collectively. Simple things such as whether the final output is a printed or an online document can help you organise the outputs from the beginning.
