To develop talent, school administrators (i.e., principals and assistant principals) must be able to communicate effectively and efficiently with a variety of stakeholders. In 2015, when the National Policy Board for Education Administration introduced the revised Professional Standards for Educational Leaders (PSEL), they stated that for student learning to occur, educational leaders must “build and strengthen a network of organizational supports— the professional capacity of teachers and staff, the professional community in which they learn and work, family and community engagement, and effective, efficient management and operations of the school” (p. 4). This is a serious undertaking which requires school administrators (SAs) to communicate effectively to develop instructional capacity, solidify school–community relationships, and execute the managerial tasks related to running a school organization.
