First page of Intergenerational Family Solidarity<subtitle>The Case of Croatia</subtitle>

The aim of this report is to provide information on various aspects of intergenerational family solidarity in Croatian society. The first part of the report contains national background information on demographic developments, social and economic situation, social and family policies as well as short review of recent research on value of family in contemporary Croatian society. Second part gives comprehensive review of scientific literature on intergenerational family relations. Third and final part is discussing research gaps and future directions related to research on intergenerational solidarity and its impact on family life.

The Republic of Croatia has a land area of 56 594 km2, and although geographically situated in the southeastern part of Europe, by its historical development and geopolitical situation is a Central European and Mediterranean country (Croatia.eu, 2017).
