First page of Management of Quality of Life at Work in Healthcare Organizations

The Human Resources Management at the Department of Health, which is in charge of coordinating the Humanization Policy and the establishment of the Promotion of Quality of Life at Work service designed to humanize all state, hospital and outpatient services, established the Center for the Improvement of Quality of Life and Work Environment through Decree 49.343 from 01/24/2005, which is designed mainly to propose and develop Programs to improve quality of life and safety (SES, 2008).

In Brazil, the Program for Improvement and Structuring of Work Management and Education at the National Healthcare System (ProgreSUS) was established through administrative act 2.261, from September 22, 2006, taking into account the weakness of Work Management and Education in Healthcare areas in the various State and City Departments of Health, as shown by surveys conducted in 2004 by the National Council of Health Secretaries (CONASS) and the Observatory Network of Human Resources in Healthcare (ROREHS-MS)(Brasil, 2007).
