The founding conference of the Canadian Association of Mathematics Teachers was held December 8 and 9 in Ottawa. Mr. Harold Promhouse attended this conference as the official representative of the Saskatchewan Mathematics Teachers’ Society. The province was also represented by Prof. A. J. Dawson of the College of Education, University of Saskatchewan, Regina Campus. The representation at this conference was drawn from all the provinces in Canada. Indeed, the conference theme was the dissemination of information regarding the mathematics curricula in each of the provinces as well as reports on innovation and pilot studies currently being carried out in the field of mathematics.
