Technology is ubiquitous and becoming more accessible; it penetrates one’s life in various ways, be it at home, at work, or at school. As a driving force of globalization, technology is rapidly transforming how and with whom we learn. Knowledge can now be generated and transmitted within and across nations in a matter of seconds. People of all ages are pursuing continuing education to learn and relearn in order to compete in the globalized world. Higher education institutions need to display more flexibility and variation in curriculum design and implementation to meet the increasingly diverse and changing needs of the learners. These needs may differ according to the background of the learners, including their education, socioeconomic milieu, culture, value systems, and preferred learning styles. Moreover, learning can be made more enthralling as the learners are now exposed to various resources from the Internet and other technologies.
