Two colorful demographic processes—the “browning” and “graying” of America—are dramatically reshaping U.S. communities, creating a triple whammy of geographical disadvantages for mainly Black and Latino youth—the new majority in the American public education system. Public education leaders must respond to these disruptive demographic trends by creating strategies to sustain financial support for our most needy schools and building collective ambition among school personnel to successfully educate our most vulnerable youth.
