Abstract
Did you catch my blog about knowledge age firms being designed anew using twenty-first century principles for companywide, collaborative-design? If not, innovative and successful new ways of enabling human minds and bodies are emerging. New design methods are being applied to innovate all parts of organizations including physical layout, work flows and the right applications for operations, collaboration, strategy, and sustainability. Today, we are designing new wealth creating organizations that have continued unchanged since the industrial revolution. As you may have experienced, strategies, innovations in (1) child development methods; and (2) educational practices have resulted in wonderful young people. The new generations are uniquely prepared to explore and exploit the many opportunities of the knowledge age. I prophesize that the new drivers of “collaborative designing” and a generation of cyber prepared talent will combine to produce a sea change in our organizational behavior and human performance.
