The emerging field of digital history is rapidly changing the shape of historical scholarship as well as school-based teaching and learning in history. Evidence of these changes is obvious in some ways given the multitude of historical primary sources available online. In other ways, changes in the field of history are more nuanced. This chapter presents an argument with supporting information from recent scholarship and research that changes in research, teaching, and learning in history are significant and long-lasting. The chapter aims to add to the emerging conceptualization of digital history as it relates to research, teaching, and learning.
