The Industrial Organizational Organizational Behavior (IOOB) Conference is a long standing tradition for graduate students and prominent speakers in the fields of industrial/organizational (IO) psychology, organizational behavior (OB), and human resource management (HRM). Every year different universities are selected to host the conference and provide graduate students the opportunity to present their research while net-working, interacting, and learning from practitioners and academics in these respected fields. This special issue emphasizes the research presented at IOOB 2005 and enables all students, professionals, and professors the opportunity to review some of the research presented at the conference.
The objective of this special issue is to provide a forum for students to convey their empirical studies presented at IOOB 2005, and the spirit of this issue is to offer students an opportunity to experience the publication process and receive peer reviewed feedback for the first time. Therefore, the evaluation of the manuscripts, although stringent, was reviewed in light of the conference. Positive finding bias, which is typically found in most peer reviewed journals, is not present as nonsupported hypotheses are represented in the articles.
