Luke's school day begins like that of many fifteen-year old high school students as he bumps and pushes his way through the crowded hallway, finally emerging from the pack and into his first-period science classroom. Luke makes his way to his desk and sits down next to his friend Ben. His large brown eyes flash as he tells Ben a funny story about roping a horse. After the bell rings, Luke's teacher hands a copy of the chemistry test to the students and reminds them to use their ph-scales. Luke has his scale out and listens to the teacher preview the test questions. After Luke asks for clarification on a question, the test begins. Fifteen minutes later, Luke finishes the test and opens his science textbook to finish the worksheet packet that is due that day.
