My finger hesitated over the button for some time before eventually hitting ‘Send Tweet’.

It was still called Twitter in those days, and I predict I will always stubbornly refuse to call it by any other name. I had typed the tweet without much thought but had since spent an unreasonable amount of time building up the courage to share it. After tapping send, I refreshed the page and waited in anticipation. As I nervously stared at my phone screen, there was no way I could have known that this moment would shape my career in education and go on to teach me so much about LGBTQ+ leadership.
