This study examines the impact of artificial intelligence (AI)-based training on employee engagement and sustainable organisational performance within the manufacturing sector in Saudi Arabia. Utilising a cross-sectional design, data were collected from 298 managerial-level employees through a convenience sampling technique. Structural equation modelling (SEM) was used to analyse the data via SmartPLS software version 4.0. The results reveal that AI-based training significantly enhances employee engagement, which in turn positively affects sustainable organisational performance. Additionally, employee engagement mediates the relationship between AI-based training and sustainable organisational performance, indicating that the benefits of AI-driven training are largely realised through its impact on employee engagement. These findings highlight the effectiveness of AI technologies in improving training outcomes and underscore the importance of fostering employee engagement to drive organisational success and sustainability. The study provides valuable implications for organisations considering the integration of AI into their training programs, suggesting that such investments can lead to substantial improvements in both employee involvement and overall performance.
