This chapter explores the sustainability efforts of Japan’s sport world and future prospects. The creation of a sustainable society has become an essential initiative in recent global business and sport, and the Japanese sport world has begun to actively contribute to the sustainable development goals (SDGs). The J. League and B. League’s social collaboration activities aim to attract ESG investment and lead to sustainable activities by engaging in SDG activities. Several sporting events also are managing events with an awareness of environmental issues (e.g., climate change). These activities have the potential to further increase Japan’s presence and influence in the international sport community and fulfill its social responsibility. Given the growing movements for sustainability through sport, it is expected that future promotions of Japan’s sport world will continue to be conscious of social, economic, and environmental considerations while also raising public awareness of the initiatives of sport organizations and events.
