It’s the weekend, and you plan to log onto your favorite streaming service. You scroll through your mobile. The latest blockbuster superhero movie, Talisman, catches your eye as the visuals in the small movie poster on the pay-to-view subscription streaming site look intriguing. You have not heard anything about this film at all – so you turn back to the advert and take a closer look and start to read, “Prepare to enter another universe to do battle with the awesome power of Talisman! One man – one machine. An astonishing triumph of good over evil!”
It sounds great – but the hyped language puts you off more than a little, so you log onto online review sites, Rotten Tomatoes, IMDb and Metacritic where you read media and viewer reviews about the movie.
