Abstract
This chapter analyzes how bamboo craft-based tourism villages in Indonesia survived during the COVID-19 pandemic. During this crisis, many destinations, including many destinations, closed due to restrictions, suffering economic loss. This chapter examines an anomaly to this general rule through a case study of Karangasem tourism village, Indonesia. To avoid going out of business, the community developed a new product in the form of a bamboo catering box. The idea became popular due to the mainstreaming of the importance of hygiene during the pandemic. The high demand for this type of bamboo craft during the pandemic allowed the population of Karangasem to benefit rather than suffer during the crisis.
