This chapter compares and contrasts the work life of two groups of women in two industries in Bangalore, India: the information technology (IT) sector and the garment sector, in certain areas, for example, gender roles, transport, and work timings, hoping to show how, across classes, the situation of women in regular employment continues to be precarious.
