Abstract
This chapter looks at how Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) works together with humans in Industry 5.0. This new industry phase focuses on sustainability, strength and designs that put people first. Unlike Industry 4.0, which was about automation and speed, Industry 5.0 pushes for circular production that reuses resources and reduces waste. AGI helps with smart tasks like predicting problems, better resource utilisation and planning product life cycles. The chapter covers topics like teaming up for strong manufacturing, brain-like systems for easy AGI–human interaction and mixing intuition with logic using neuro-symbolic AGI. It explains how this alliance works, such as in changing environments, clear AGI decisions for trust and agents in real and virtual worlds. AGI aids in the prediction of resource reuse and product design that can be recycled. Challenges include too much mental load, losing skills, system compatibility and fair AGI without bias. The future includes shared goals, quantum AGI for better problem-solving, global rules for ethics and building systems ready for AGI with good infrastructure and training. This collaboration reshapes industries into ones that regenerate and balance technological progress with nature and society, so AGI boosts human abilities instead of replacing them.
