Abstract
This chapter provides an in-depth look at an early intervention initiative aimed at supporting young adolescents considered at risk during their crucial transition to secondary school. The Keeping Kids Engaged in School programme directly addressed the well-documented patterns of academic and motivational disengagement that can emerge in early adolescence. The programme specifically targeted Tier 2 students, a vulnerable sub-group who required additional support beyond the general classroom cohort.
