SYNOPSIS. The problems facing technicians in Developing
Countries are considered and explanations proposed to account
for the fact that they do not always attain the expected level
of performance. A possible technician network is to be
developed in order to continue the gains in confidence brought
about by training courses.
The title page of this conference volume should be
carefully studied. The topic is Appropriate Development For
Survival and the picture shows a person lifting industrial
development from a well in much the same way as thousands of
people in the developing world lift their Water For Survival.
