Welcome, Benvenuto, and Bienvenue to the fifth volume in the series on Organizing for Sustainable Effectiveness: Organizing Supply Chain Processes for Sustainable Innovation in the Agri-Food Industry. This volume focuses on a series of cases that addressed sustainability oriented innovation in the agri-food industry and specifically the agricultural, processing, distribution, and consumption activities associated with its supply chain. It is part of a larger Emerald Press series that looks broadly and deeply at changes in organizations, in how they relate to each other, and to their broader contexts to assure sustainable effectiveness. The series is timely because human societies around the world are facing serious economic, societal, and environmental challenges. An overarching framework for understanding these challenges is the need for people, organizations, societies, and global entities to find effective approaches to deal with unprecedented levels of complexity.
