To fulfill actual and future requirements bridges should be robust and in case a sensitive part fails or an unforeseen event happens, the structure as a whole should not collapse. To investigate the robustness of bridges the standard overpasses with V-columns, which are widely common in Switzerland, being constructed in the sixties and seventies. Both, the superstructure and the substructure, consist of precast elements. Failure of one or more sensitive parts and the consequences are considered.
