The USA is not the world, but on the financial markets almost nothing works without the USA. This becomes apparent time and again when a public holiday is celebrated in the USA – then the other financial markets are left to their own devices and usually show only minor movements. Impulses are only generated if there are still some important economic indicators in other countries.

Nevertheless, Chinese GDP growth and the Tankan index are in focus for the developments of the global financial markets anyway, and with the ifo business climate index, the ZEW survey and GDP growth three data from Germany (see overviews Table 6, Table 7). Other economic data may have the potential to have an impact on the respective local markets, but global trends are not normally affected.
