This book has sought to guide the reader through the complex journey between identity features, struggles and dimensions as an in-depth analysis of the micro level affected by macro and meso changes in the public sector. In more detail, the book was grounded in the awareness that the public sector inefficiencies (from manifold perspectives such as the economic, social, organisational and institutional ones), despite the expensive reforms and measures taken, remained unsolved because of the lack of attention to how the changes introduced were grounded, translated and experienced at the micro level (Tomo, 2018). In this regard, it has been argued that the micro-level analysis required further attention towards issues such as behaviours, relations and individual identity.
