This collection of works has grappled with unique styles of leadership and distinctive patterns of networked governance efforts that come together in the ‘messy’ configurations intended to derive entrepreneurial synergies in place. It has attempted to expand the scope of entrepreneurship beyond that of business start-ups and small firms. This has been achieved by bringing together a variety of analyses that are concerned with the role and importance of place in entrepreneurship. Yet, multidisciplinary projects of this nature, especially those at the forefront of a new intellectual field and emerging sub-discipline – enterprising places – inevitably raise just as many questions, if not more, than those that they seek to answer. Each of the contributions has engaged with the notion of place from different situated vantages, philosophical perspectives, political persuasions, and places of study. Indeed, a range of methodological techniques and conceptual tools have been deployed. Therefore, to conclude this volume, this chapter considers future prospects, policy issues and research frontiers.
