Embedding sensors, which exploit the electrical properties of concrete, represents a developing testing technique in the study of the performance of cover-zone concrete. This paper details a study of the sensitivity of such sensors to changes in temperature and represents an important consideration in the interpretation of field measurements. The relevant background theory to measurement procedures is detailed and an alternative approach for temperature standardization of electrical measurements is presented. Field data from a marine exposure test-site are used to illustrate the standardization procedure.
